Goodwin and Ramprakash star in Oval run feast
Saturday, 19 May 2007

Murray Goodwin starred for Sussex as they held out for a draw following Surrey's stunning first innings total of 626 for 3 declared, after Mark Ramprakash (266 no) and forgotten Englishman and Surrey captain Mark Butcher (179) set a formidable first innings lead.

Sussex stuttered in reply scoring just 365 with only Murray scoring anything of note (out for 119), with some support from opener Montgomerie (78).

With Surrey smelling victory Sussex stumbled to 119 -3 before Goodwin was joined at the crease by captain Chris Adams (who was involves in one of the more bizarre closed season moves, leaving Sussex and later reversing his decision!)

Sussex closed on 372 -3 securing the draw, Goodwin remaining unbeaten on 205, and captain Adams on 102.
