Murray Goodwin starred for Sussex as they held out for a draw following Surrey's stunning first innings total of 626 for 3 declared, after Mark Ramprakash (266 no) and forgotten Englishman and Surrey captain Mark Butcher (179) set a formidable first innings lead. Sussex stuttered in reply scoring just 365 with only Murray scoring anything of note (out for 119), with some support from opener Montgomerie (78). |
